Why I Started the Tappy Chat Podcast
For the longest time, I felt like something was missing.
As a dance teacher working with babies, toddlers, and preschoolers and as a mum myself, I’ve had hundreds of conversations with parents, grandparents and carers after class. We’d chat about everything from toddler tantrums and nap strikes to picky eating and screen time.
After many of those chats, I’d walk away thinking, “More people need to hear this.”
And that’s how Tappy Chat was born.
A Space Beyond the Dance Studio
Tappy Toes has always been about more than just dancing. Yes, we teach movement and music, but we also build confidence, spark creativity, and create connections.
I wanted to carry that same sense of connection into a new space. A space where we could have honest, helpful, and often hilarious conversations about raising and educating little ones. A space where parents, carers, and educators feel heard, supported, and maybe even a little more prepared for the whirlwind that is life with tiny humans.
Real Stories, Practical Tips, and a Lot of Laughter
Over the years, I’ve met so many incredible people, fellow early years teachers, health visitors, entertainers, child development experts, and inspiring parents. I decided it was time to stop keeping those brilliant chats to myself.
So I dusted off my mic, got brave, and started recording.
Each episode of Tappy Chat is designed to add something meaningful to your day. That might be a practical tip, a new idea, or simply the reassuring reminder that you’re not doing this alone. We explore everything from toddler confidence and creativity through movement, to how music and dance support early development.
More Than Just a Dance Podcast
Although Tappy Toes is where this journey began, Tappy Chat is about so much more than dance. It’s about community.
Whether you’re a parent, grandparent, teacher or childminder, if you’ve got little ones in your life, this podcast is for you. It’s a place for grown-ups who care for tiny people to feel inspired, laugh out loud and learn something new along the way.
Ready to Tune In?
Launching this podcast was a little scary (does anyone really enjoy hearing their own voice?), but the response has been so encouraging, and I’m excited to keep the conversations going.
If you haven’t listened yet, I’d love to invite you to join me. You can find Tappy Chat on Spotify or your favourite podcast platform.
