New Owner Of Tappy Toes Newcastle and Gateshead

December 4, 2025

Hello! I’m Ellie and I’m excited to announce that I am now the proud owner of Tappy Toes Newcastle and Gateshead.

A little bit about my background: I started dancing at the age of 3 at Alnwick Academy of Dance, where I trained in a variety of dance styles, including Ballet, Modern, Jazz, Tap, Contemporary, and Street Dance. Over the course of 15 years, I completed many ISTD exams, achieving distinctions and merits. I’ve had the privilege of performing on cruise ships around the Mediterranean aboard the MSC Orchestra and have been involved in several pantomimes and shows at Alnwick Playhouse.

At 16, I decided to further my dance career by studying at Newcastle College of Performing Arts, where I gained qualifications in Performing Arts at Level 2 and Level 3. I continued my studies through Levels 4, 5, and 6, and in 2023, I graduated with a BA (Hons) in Dance. During my time at college, I expanded my dance repertoire, studying styles like Salsa, Commercial, and Theatre, which were incredible experiences that shaped my growth as a performer and teacher.

In 2024, I decided to focus on teaching dance, and that’s when I found Tappy Toes Newcastle and Gateshead. I reached out to Carly Webster, who welcomed me as one of the business’s teachers. This was an amazing opportunity to share the knowledge and experience I had gained throughout my performing years. Within a few months, I was teaching my own classes, including Toddle, Tots, and Tip Toes— a ballet class I introduced to the community. I also had the opportunity to teach in schools, nurseries, and community centers, which was incredibly rewarding. Seeing the class numbers grow and expand was an exciting moment for me.

In September 2025, Carly kindly offered me the chance to take over Tappy Toes as a business of my own. Without hesitation, I said yes! I’m thrilled to begin this new chapter and am excited to watch the growth of the business. It’s already clear that classes are expanding, and this is just the beginning. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for me and for Tappy Toes in Newcastle and Gateshead!
