Tappy Toes Launching in St Albans

St Albans and Harpenden

My name is Olivia Gavigan and I absolutely cannot wait to bring Tappy Toes dance classes to St Albans and Harpenden. I’m excited to have a boogie and a twirl with you in our toddler classes.

About Olivia

I started dancing from 2 years old and from that point onwards you couldn’t take me away from dance! I started with Ballet classes then branched out to Tap, Musical Theatre and Jazz, where my love only grew. I have always been active throughout my childhood, whether that be playing in team sports for school such as Netball, Hockey or Athletics, or taking part in gymnastics competitions. I loved being part of a team, feeling like I was part of a community and relying on each other for the best outcome. But my passion for dance was the strongest.

Dance and teaching Background

After a few years of performing in local theatres doing musicals, I decided to audition for a performance troupe called West End Kids where I was lucky enough to perform at prestigious events around the country. This included performances at Trafalgar Square, Hampton Court Palace, Big Feastival and many more.

I’ve always had a big passion for dance since being just a toddler and now being able to share that passion with you and your toddlers is so exciting.

I continued my dance journey at university where I studied at Bird College doing a degree in Musical Theatre and Dance where I graduated in 2022. Immediately after I knew I wanted to teach. I started teaching Dance, Musical Theatre and Acro in St Albans and shortly after, I found Tappy Toes. I started teaching classes at a Nursery in Mill Hill and classes in Rickmansworth and as soon as I started teaching babies and toddlers, I knew I had to get more involved. After 1 ½ years of teaching I decided to take the leap to start my own franchise of Tappy Toes.

St Albans

I grew up in Radlett so I spent a lot of time in St Albans when growing up, whether it was spending time with friends going shopping or going out for dinner with my family at one of the many restaurants! Now teaching in St Albans, I always feel there is a big sense of community and I’m excited to be a part of that with you.

Before I start up classes in January 2025, I am going travelling around South East Asia for just under 3 months. I have always loved the idea of travelling the world and to be able to have this opportunity to is so exciting! I will be going to Thailand, Vietnam, the Phillipines and Australia.

Benefits of classes

Tappy Toes classes are all about having lots of fun, building your little ones confidence, being active and inspiring their creativity. Since teaching for Tappy Toes I’ve been able to watch children’s development over the weeks, see them making new friends and just having the best time. Tappy Toes is the perfect place for your little ones. Whether they have bundles of energy or those who need a little bit of encouragement, to come out of their shell. Either way they will love our laughter and smile filled sessions. Whether it's with our many different props, bubbles or our groovy dance moves, it is such a joyful 30 minutes. I love watching your little ones express themselves with no pressure and I know you won’t regret coming to our classes.

I can’t wait to have a dance with you!
