Hi I'm Karen,

Hello everyone, my name is Karen and I am the proud owner of Tappy Toes Bedford.

The performing arts have been a huge part of my life ever since I stepped on stage as the Angel Gabriel in my first nativity.  I do believe the love of theatre is in my genes as my mother was a dancer for Rambert and then later a dance teacher.  I learnt to dance with my mum but then I feel I found my calling after taking my first drama lesson and falling in love with literature and particularly Shakespeare.  I continued my training at LAMDA, where I discovered my joy in writing, directing and teaching.

Since college, I have taught at numerous performing arts schools throughout Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire.  I even had my own two children Jaz and Kian study with me till they were 18.  This year I took the decision that I didn’t wish to travel so much and wanted to focus my teaching in Bedfordshire, so the chance to run Tappy Toes Bedford was perfect timing.  I currently run a Youth Theatre Group with eight other teachers.

Variety is the spice of life and when I am not teaching, you will find me popping a costume on for parties and events – with Christmas coming up my Mrs Claus will be out and about.

We are bursting with ideas for the Tappy Toes community and are excited to build on what the lovely Flic began.
