Dance Background
Hello everyone, my name is Fran Mash and I am so thrilled to be bringing Tappy Toes baby and toddler dance classes to the Horsham and Crawley area.
I have always loved to dance from a young age and spent my weekends learning ballroom and latin or heading to the west end to perform with my dance school.
I met some great friends along the way and whenever we got together we would create new routines to our favourite songs and show them off to anyone willing to watch.
Dance was a huge part of my childhood and even though life got in the way a little as I grew up, that passion has never gone away and I am always the last one standing on the dance floor at the end of night!
University
I went to Roehampton university and although I’ll admit, a lot of my time was spent dancing in the student union, I did also manage to bag my degree in Primary Education. I have taught in Primary Schools in Surrey and Sussex for over 10 years and have learned a thing or two along the way about keeping active kiddos entertained.
Nothing gets a group of children’s attention more than popping on some music and saying the words ‘dance party’! It is the best way to lift the mood in a classroom and to shake out all that extra energy.
Horsham
Living in Horsham all my life, I knew that I also wanted to start a family here with my husband Ben. Fast forward to 2019, we had a little boy called Rowan, who changed our world forever. We all know when you have a toddler, finding something to keep them entertained is essential to keeping your sanity intact. Rowan obviously inherited my genes and as soon as the music goes on, he’s up making shapes! I was constantly on the hunt for great classes to keep him occupied and that I might actually enjoy myself too. I stumbled across Tappy Toes toddler and baby dance classes whilst scrolling online and immediately saw the gap in the market for our lovely town, I couldn’t believe my luck!
The Importance of Dance in Early Years
Now I get to combine these two passions of mine with our incredible Tappy Toes classes, which I am so excited about! I know how important movement and dance is for little ones in building confidence, motor skills, creativity and happiness!
Delving a little deeper into what Tappy Toes was all about, I saw the smiley faces, the bubbles, the great music and the opportunities for babies and toddlers to just be free, express themselves and have fun with no pressure. I could not wait to be a part of it and the best bit was I could do this around my family and be a present mum who LOVES her job!
I can not wait to bring these incredible baby and toddler dance classes to Horsham and Crawley and hopefully instil a love of dance into all the children that come along and maybe even some of the parents too! Tappy Toes is about learning new skills, making friends and letting that joy burst out of you when you move to music you love. If you were on the fence about whether or not Tappy Toes classes are right for your child, hopefully this blog has given you that nudge to bring your little one along and give it a try, I know you won’t regret it.
