We’re Back! Tappy Toes Southampton East Relaunches on the South Coast!
My name is Michaela, and I am thrilled to bring Tappy Toes Southampton East back to the South Coast! Our baby and toddler dance classes are designed to introduce little ones to the joy of movement, rhythm, and music in a fun and supportive environment.
When did my love for dance start?
From the moment I started dancing at the age of three, my passion for movement and performance has shaped my journey. I competed in numerous dance competitions and participated in local pantomimes, developing my love for the stage from an early age.
To further my training, when I left school I studied at Chichester College, gaining my world-renowned ISTD (Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing) DDE qualifications in Ballet, Tap and Modern, all whilst teaching at my dance school, The Yasmin Taylor Academy of Dance. From there, I continued my professional dance training at The Centre of Performing Arts College in Kent, refining my skills and preparing for a career in the industry. I was fortunate to leave college with a contract for my first professional job just 1 week after graduating.
For five incredible years, I travelled the world performing on cruise ships, where I also took on the role of Dance Captain, leading and mentoring fellow performers. It truly was the most amazing job and I feel incredibly lucky to have such amazing memories of my time dancing at sea. Now, I have transitioned back into dance teaching, sharing my knowledge and inspiring the next generation of dancers to pursue their dreams.
How I Became a Part of the Tappy Toes Community?
Since leaving the ships I have become a parent myself to 2 little boys. There’s something special about raising boys – the endless energy, the wild imaginations, and the tender moments that melt your heart when you least expect it. They both love to dance, just like their mummy, with my youngest being a little Tappy Toes star himself. Taking him to class every week filled us both with so much joy, he loved everything about the class, from the music to the props to shaking his hips! And not only that, I loved it too! Watching him have so much fun in such a well-structured, high-energy class ticked all the boxes for me! So when the opportunity came up to run my franchise I knew I had to enquire…and here I am, ready to launch my own classes of baby, toddler and preschool dance classes.
