Hi! I'm Heather and I'm so excited to introduce myself as the first ever Scottish Tappy Toes Franchisee! Classes are coming to Giffnock, Newton Mearns, East Kilbride and Rutherglen…

I'm so proud to be bringing such joyful baby, toddler and pre-school dance classes to my hometown of Rutherglen, as well as several other areas across South Lanarkshire & East Renfrewshire! Here’s a little more about me..

My own dance journey began at my local dance school when I was 4. I loved to watch the older girls dancing, I can remember it being so inspiring. I just couldn't wait to be one of the ‘big girls' and get to perform all the fast dances and cool tricks!

This is why I am so passionate about baby and toddler dance classes today! I know just how much, talent and love for dance can start at such a young age.

I remember I would make up my own dance routines and perform them in front of my family. Often, I used my older sister as my ‘dance student' and would teach her all my moves. On Saturday nights we would watch shows like Strictly Come Dancing & Dancing on Ice and at the intervals I would make her perform all the dance lifts with me! As I grew up I began to realise that dance was something I could make a career out of and so when I left school I went on to train for 4 years at dance college and graduated with a HND Dance Artist qualification. I went straight into employment working in my local community as a dance teacher…and now here I am present day, at the start of my Tappy Toes journey!

Work & Home Life

I consider myself to be one of the very few lucky people in this world who can whole heartedly say they love their job! Dance has always been a constant throughout my life, I can't imagine myself doing anything else. I’ve now been working as a dance teacher full time for 5 years. I felt it was about time to take myself in a new direction as a Tappy Toes dance Franchise owner. Although Covid has been very difficult in so many ways, it has lead me to this new chapter in my life, which is so exciting!

At the moment I don’t have any children of my own, so Tappy Toes is my new baby! Aside from dancing, I recently adopted an adorable but very energetic rescue puppy named Lena, who keeps me on my ‘Tip Toes’!.. So when I’m not in the dance studio, you'll most likely find me playing with her in the park. That’s one of the reasons I am so delighted I came across Tappy Toes, as having my own franchise dance business gives me the freedom to balance my work/home life better than ever before!

I have some very ‘Tappy Toes‘ in anticipation to get started! The countdown is now on until I can welcome a whole new bunch of little dancers into my classes. I just can't wait to see the joy on their faces as we do the Wiggerly Woo!!
